Are the teachers qualified enough? What are their qualifications and experience?
All the teachers are suitably qualified, trained and have enough experience to manage your children.

Do we have a counsellor in the school?
Yes we do have a student counsellor in the school.

How many days leave can the children take?
Children cannot take leave except under extraordinary circumstances like illness or unforeseen circumstances. An application for prior permission must be submitted to the Principal.

Can the children take half day leave?
Half day leaves are not granted in school unless there is an emergency.

When can the parents meet the teacher or the supervisor or the Principal?
After school hours or on working Saturdays with prior appointments.

Is there a bus facility available? If yes, kindly give details about the same.
Yes, it is available. The Administrative Manager helps the parents to choose an appropriate
route.

How will we know the bus stops?
For the first 2-3 days the parents are asked to drop the child in the morning and accompany
their child on the bus in the afternoon.

When will the school infrastructure be completely ready?
By June 2011.

How safe is it with the construction going on?
Every precaution has been taken to ensure the child's safety and security in the premises. No
major construction work will be undertaken during the school hours. There will be faculty and
other staff members with the children. No child will be left unattended.

When will the Playground be operational?
The Playground will be Operational from January 2011.

Is there an In-house Doctor? Are the first aid facilities available?
There is a doctor on call and an appropriate first aid facility. All teachers have attended the First
Aid course by St. John's Ambulance and are legally certified 'First Aiders'.

On birthdays, can return gifts and chocolates be given in the classroom?
No gift will be sent to school and birthdays will be celebrated every Friday in the classroom at
snack time. The parents will be requested to co-ordinate with the respective Heads of the
Pre-Primary, Primary and Middle School for further details.

If a child is absent, how will he catch up with the work missed in class?
Kindly do not worry. The teachers will take care of the matter in class. Recap is done often.

Will stationery and books be kept in school or should they be carried daily ?
Most of the books will be kept in school. Re-enforcement material will be sent home.

What kind of eatables will be provided to the children? How will they be served ?
Healthy, wholesome snacks will be provided.(An In-house dietician takes care of these needs.)
The Pre Primary children are served snacks in the classrooms, Primary and Middle Schools are
served in the cafeteria.

Do the children have to carry their food?
No. The children will be provided with snacks and lunch in school.

What if my child does not like the food served in the cafeteria?
The objective of serving different cuisines in the cafeteria is to train the palate of the children to enjoy the same. Food served will be nutritious, wholesome and well-balanced.

PRE-PRIMARY SECTION:

How do you expect a Playgroup child to climb up so many stairs?
Attendants/Faculty members will help them all the way up.

Do we need to send the child in diapers?
Only as long as the child is not toilet trained. The teacher must be informed in writing as soon as the
training starts at home.

What things should a child carry in his/her bag?
A change of clothes in a plastic bag, a napkin, a water bottle and the school diary.

Where is the washroom? How often will the kids be taken to the washroom?
On the same floor as the classroom. Kids will be taken at regular intervals or as required.

My child is not used to using strange toilet seats? Can I send his potty to school with him?
The school has appropriate toilet seats for use by the Playgroup children and the maids will assist them
to in the washroom.

How long will it take for my child to settle?
Our settling procedure is adapted to the needs of the individual child in order to minimize / avoid anxiety
for both the child and the parent.

How many maids are there in a class?
1 maid is assigned per class.

Do you have enough tissues in the classrooms?
Yes.

How will our children be evaluated?
We follow a system of continuous, regular and tri semester assessment.

How many children are there per class?
There are 30 children in a class.

From which Grade will the formal assessments start?
Formal assessment starts from Grade 5. Till Grade 4 we have internal assessments.

FOR PRIMARY AND MIDDLE SECTION

What are the timings for the Primary and Middle School Section?
The timings for the Primary and Middle school are 8.30 am to 3.30 am.

How will the child be assessed Marks and Grades?
Grades.

Will the parents be informed about the tests or will there be surprise tests?
For Grades 1-4 there are only informal assessments hence the parents will not be informed about them.
For Grades 5-7 the parents will be informed about the formal assessments at the end of each term.

How many marks will each subject carry?
100 marks.

Will school introduce new activities such as Yoga, Abacus, Karate?
Yes, in the new academic year- beginning June 2011.

How safe will an overnight excursion or field trip be?
Every precaution will be taken by the school authorities to ensure the safety of the children.
